When you are admitted to the hospital, you'll
be assigned a room in an area of the hospital that specializes in
the type of care you will need. If your clinical needs change
during the course of your stay, it may be necessary to change your
room accordingly. The rooms have been specifically designed
with state-of-the art technology including special beds and
other equipment that will enhance both your care and comfort.
Most rooms in the hospital are semi-private. Private rooms
are available for patients needing isolation due to their illness
or those in critical care areas.
Nurse Call
Button
The call button at your bedside is connected
to the nursing station and should be used to call a nurse to
your room when you need help. There is also an emergency call
button in the shower stall and bathroom, should you need
assistance.
Smoking
St. Joseph's Medical Center does not
permit smoking in the facility. Please help us ensure the
good health of our patients and staff by complying with this
policy. If you need access to the designated smoking areas,
please check with your nurse.
Cellular Phones
and Personal Computers
To avoid interference with medical equipment
in use, we ask that you restrict the use of cellular telephones,
two-way radios, and all other devices that emit RF transmission to
non-patient care areas such as waiting rooms and the
cafeterias.
