A ministry to seniors and their families
The Stockton Interfaith Caregiver Program is
a coalition of faith congregations, St. Joseph's Medical Center,
and community agencies providing services to seniors and their
families. The goal is to help people improve their quality of life
and remain independent as long as possible. All services are free
of charge and are provided by trained volunteers of all ages from
area congregations.
Volunteers provide a variety of services such
as shopping, running errands, transportation and escort to
appointments, respite care, or yard work and minor house repairs.
Sometimes seniors' needs are as simple as telephone reassurance or
just friendly visiting. Services are requested by families, friends
or neighbors, home health or social service agencies, community
groups and organizations, or seniors themselves.
The Stockton Interfaith Caregiver
Program is always looking for volunteers. It's easy --
volunteers are generous, caring people who share a responsibility
for helping others.
