Drug testing is a service provided by our Occupational Health and Rehab Services Department.
Drug screens are done according to the highest federal standards. These tests look for drugs that are used for medical conditions, and also substances of abuse.
Following is a list of drug screens offered:
-
Department of Transportation (DOT) Standardized Testing – For those employers who are DOT regulated, we provide the highest level of Federal Standards, that include the National Institute for Drug Abuse (NIDA) requirements. The NIDA 5 drug panel requires detection of Amphetamines, Cannabinoids, Cocaine/Metabolic, Opiates and Phencyclidine. We use a Federally licensed and approved laboratory. DOT standardized testing includes drug collection, testing confirmation and Medical Review Officer (MRO) services. We have a Random DOT Drug & Alcohol Consortium also. Some large employers may belong to a drug screening consortium and the laboratory itself contracts for services. In that case, a collection site is required and we will provide services by contract and by bid for the lab. Fees for this service are by contract and by bid.
-
Non-DOT Testing – For those employers who are not DOT regulated, we offer a panel that includes testing “NIDA 5”. We can provide this through a NIDA Laboratory with the standards above.
- Our laboratory can also provide a Non-DOT 5-panel Test. This service is provided in our local laboratory. This quality is still quite excellent and offers employers a little bit more flexibility when the DOT requirements are not necessary.
- Our Occupational Health Clinics also provide a rapid 5 or 10 panel drug screen. We can provide the employer with an immediate result unless confirmation is needed.
-
Urine Drug Collection only for DOT and Non – DOT testing - St. Joseph’s Medical Center’s clinics follow Federal Standards for collections. We offer complete chain of custody and shipment of the specimen to your designated laboratory. Your designated lab & MRO will then report the test results directly to you.
