As with any surgery, it is very important for patients to learn as much as possible about their procedure and understand what to expect during their hospital stay.  Spinal surgery and neurosurgery patients and families meet with Julie Vaughn, RN, Neurosurgical Clinical Management Specialist, during the pre-admission visit review the surgical procedure and their hospital stay.  Patients will be given a Patient Guide to Spinal Surgery that will explain the procedure in detail and have an opportunity ask questions.
