Cardiac Rehabilitation
More Than Just A Gym

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a program of cardiac-specific exercise and education designed to assist you in resuming a healthy lifestyle.  Our specially trained staff work with physicians to develop an individualized plan of cardiac rehabilitation for each patient.  All patients with a cardiac diagnosis are candidates for outpatient cardiac rehablitation.

Education and Exercise
The focus of cardiac rehablitation is education and a specific exercise plan based on your heart's response to exercise.  In the program, you will use various equipment while your heart rate, heart rhythm and blood pressure are monitored.  You will also learn how to improve your coronary disease risk factors.  Support groups are available to assist you with your recovery.

Education classes are offered on nutrition, coronary artery disease, stress management, and risk factor modification.

Specialized Cardiac Rehabilitation staff members, including a registered nurse with certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, are present at each session.  You remain under the medical care of your personal physician who is regularly informed of your progress in the program.

A Decision To Participate
Increased fitness, improved recovery and reduced rish of new cardiac events are our goals for you.  To be enrolled, you and your physician must decide that Cardiac Rehabilitation will benefit you.  Your commitment to the program includes attending exercise classes two to three times each week, for a duration of one to three months.

Cost
Many insurance companies will pay between 80% and 100% of the program costs.  If you are unsure about your coverage, the Cardiac Rehabilitation staff are available to assist you in checking your insurance coverage.
