St. Joseph's Cancer Navigator is available to help those diagnosed with cancer to navigate through the tests, procedures, treatments, and support issues that follow a positive biopsy. We offer support with educational, practical, emotional, or logistical issues surrounding the diagnosis of cancer. We can also make referrals to other agencies that offer resources to assist patients through this difficult time.
The program is FREE and available to help anyone whether newly diagnosed, currently involved in cancer treatment, or experiencing a recurrence.
Our goal is to provide those informed of a positive cancer biopsy with the information and support they need to successfully navigate through the journey of a cancer diagnosis.

- A patient advocate and liaison between providers to help facilitate coordination of care
- Assistance accessing funding programs for cancer treatment
- Language interpretation during medical appointments (Spanish, Hmong, Thai, and Laotian) for breast cancer patients Help in obtaining prostheses, bras, wigs, or hats
Support Team
Cancer specialists are available to meet one-on-one with patients. Our multidisciplinary team of health care professionals includes an Advanced Oncology Certified Cancer Nurse, a Radiation Specialist, a Social Support Coordinator, and several Breast Cancer Outreach Specialists. The Outreach Specialists specialize in working with breast patients from a variety of ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. They are sensitive to the special issues faced by African-American women and women from Spanish, Hmong, Laotian, and Thai speaking groups.
